Bayern Munich have turned down Manchester United’s opening bid for Benjamin Pavard.
The French defender is Erik ten Hag’s preferred target as the club look to bring in a new defender as Harry Maguire’s move to West Ham edges closer.
United set to increase Benjamin Pavard bid
The latest reports from Sky Sport Germany have claimed that the Red Devils have seen their opening bid turned down by the German champions.
Bayern are looking for a fee in the region of $30 million for the versatile defender. However, United are hopeful that a compromise can be agreed.
Pavard has just one year remaining on his current Bayern deal, and he has made it clear to club officials that he won’t be extending his stay and that he has his sights set on a move to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.
Pavard featured for Bayern Munich in their 3-0 Super Cup defeat against RB Leipzig on Saturday.
