Manchester United are expected to widen their search for a new left-back and are interested in signing Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola this week.
The versatile 30-year-old has proven himself to be a high-class performer at the top level and was included in the Euro 2020 team of the tournament due to excellent performances on the left flank where he was able to cut in on his favored right foot.
Leonardo Spinazzola on Man United’s wishlist
According to Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Spinazzola has been added to a list of targets by Red Devils head coach Erik Ten Hag which also includes Marcos Alonso, Sergio Reguillon, Marc Cucurella, and Brentford left-back Rico Henry.
The Dutchman is in the market for a new left-back after Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both suffered injury setbacks in the first weeks of the new Premier League season and regular right-back Diogo Dalot had to fill in for the injured duo during Saturday’s 3-2 home win over Nottingham Forest.
Lyon full-back Nicolas Tagliafico has also been rumored with the Red Devils and has worked with Ten Hag before during their time together at Ajax.
