Fantasy Football ones to watch season 2018/19 gameweek eight

We are back with our rather later than usual ones to watch for gameweek eight, which we apologise for. Our gameweek eight produced mixed results, although defenders Kieran Trippier and Matt Doherty did us proud with returning at both ends of the field.

Here are the ones to watch for gameweek eight:

Joe Hart (Burnley, £4.6million)

The much-maligned England international has endured a turbulent few years, spending the last two years out on-loan from Manchester City. However, a permanent summer move to Burnley seems to have revitalised Hart.

This season Hart has taken the second highest amount of points of any goalkeeper in FPL, with leader Wayne Hennessey ahead of him by just one point. Hart has also picked up save points in all seven of his Premier League appearances for the Clarets.

This weekend Burnley welcomes goal-shy Huddersfield to Turf Moor, where the former City star should add to his points tally, if not save points.

Harry Maguire (Leicester, £5.5million)

The England international has enjoyed a mixed start to the Premier League campaign, with the Foxes struggling defensive. Maguire and co have in fact kept just two clean sheets from their seven top-flight games so far. With attacking Everton heading to the King Power this weekend, that tally of clean sheets may not improve.

However, at the other end of the pitch, Maguire could cause Everton problems. The England international has scored twice and produced two assists this season. Last time out he scored and assisted in a 2-0 win at Newcastle.

With Everton vulnerable on set-pieces this season due to zonal marking, Maguire could well justify his £5.5million with attacking returns.

James Maddison (Leicester, £6.9million)

We cannot get enough of the midfielder, who today celebrated his first call-up to the senior England squad. He certainly deserves the call-up, as he has enjoyed a good start to his career in the Premier League with Leicester.

The midfielder has scored three goals and produced two assists since his summer switch from Championship Norwich. With a price tag of £6.9million and the visit of travel sick Everton to the King Power Stadium this weekend, Maddison looks like a no-brainer pick, especially as the Foxes have a good run of fixtures on the horizon.

Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal, £9.5million)

We usually only choose low-price or budget options for our ‘ones to watch’. However, the French international could prove to be a good differential this weekend, as the Gunners visit a very open Fulham team, a game the side from north London are favourites to win.

Lacazette has scored two goals and produced four assists in his last five top-flight appearances. However, in the Gunners last two top-flight games he saw two very legitimate penalty appeals turned down by the officials.

Priced at £9.5million, the former Lyon striker is expensive, but Arsenal are a team that score goals and the striker tends to be in the thick of the action when the Gunners do register. One downside to the French forward is that his fixtures are mixed, although he only faces one of last season’s top six in the next six league games.
