Aston Villa have become the latest team to join the race to sign highly-rated Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

The Midlands side will likely be the outsiders to sign the 21-year-old, but Diario AS have confirmed that Unai Emery’s side is the latest team to throw their name into the hat for the Spanish star.

It looks likely that the winger will be leaving Bilbao next summer, as he is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Spanish club.

Williams has no shortage of options to consider before making a final decision, as Barcelona and Liverpool are among the clubs that are tracking the highly-rated forward.

Williams made his La Liga debut in 2020 for Bilbao, and has played 73 times across four seasons in the Spanish top-flight. Over that period, he has scored six goals.

The winger has also scored 12 goals across all competitions for the Spanish giants.
