Brentford boss Thomas Frank has confirmed that former number one David Raya will make his loan move to Arsenal permanent next summer.
Speaking after Raya displaced Aaron Ramsdale to make his Gunners Premier League debut in the 1-0 win at Everton on Sunday, the Danish manager said, “ It’s a loan deal, but probably it will become a permanent deal in the future”.

As reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, all parties, including Raya, believe that the buy option in the ex-Bees’ shot-stopper’s season-long contract at Arsenal will be activated in the summer of 2024.

Raya was expected to move to Arsenal on a permanent basis this summer but the transfer was altered at the last minute by Mikel Arteta’s men in order to comply with UEFA and the Premier League’s stringent Financial Fair Play regulations.
