Barcelona youngster Alejandro Balde has agreed to a new five-year contract with the Spanish champions.
The news was announced the morning after Balde played the full 90 minutes in Barca’s second 5-0 home win in a matter of days last night against Belgian side Royal Antwerp in the Champions League.

The 19-year-old emerged as a breakout star last season under head coach Xavi Hernandez effectively displacing long-standing first-choice left-back Jordi Alba who has since moved to Inter Miami.
According to the club’s official website, the Barca full-back will sign his new improved deal at an official ceremony at the club’s training ground tomorrow at 1:15 PM CET.

An attack-minded left-back, Balde has made the position his own, and his new deal will include a release clause of $1.07b.
