Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has opened up about the intense scunity of managing the Red Devils.

The 53-year-old took over the club from Ajax after a dismal 2021-2022 season which saw the end of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and interim head coach Ralf Ragnick and was able to guide United to Champions League qualification in his first term.

The Dutch head coach is aware of the responsibility of managing United and before tonight’s clash against Crystal Palace re-emphasized the pressure of playing for the club too.

“Pressure is part of life at Man Utd for everyone involved in the club”, said Ten Hag. “The demands are never easy because expectations are so high and everybody is watching”.

Ten Hag is likely to put out a strong team against Palace in their defense of the Carabao Cup tonight- a trophy they won last year following an impressive 2-0 win at Wembley against Newcastle- their first major trophy in six years.

“You don’t wear this crest to have an easy life but because you are capable of handling the responsibility”, he added, after having to cope with difficult situations surrounding the off-field problems of Mason Greenwood and Antony, and following his high-profile bust-up with wide forward Jadon Sancho.
