We are back with our FPL ones to watch series after what seems like a never-ending international break. Our gameweek eight picks enjoyed mixed fortunes, although Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette proved a top pick.
Well, here we go again here are our top FPL picks for gameweek nine:
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool, £5.2million)
The young Liverpool full-back offers potential points return at both ends of the field this weekend, as Liverpool travel to goal-shy Huddersfield. Liverpool have looked very solid in defence this season and Alexander-Arnold offers a cheap route into the Reds backline.
At times, he has also taken on free-kick duties ahead of far more experienced players for Liverpool. There is one potential negative in the fact that the youngster was rested last time out against Manchester City. However, that move was so that the more defensive Joe Gomez could play at right-back. Alexander-Arnold is expected to return to Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up for this clash, though.
The away game at Huddersfield before a home game against struggling Cardiff City at Anfield makes the youngster a very promising FPL asset.
Richarlison (Everton, £6.8million)
The Brazilian international looks an absolute steal at £6.8million, especially as he is playing in an Everton team that is set up to attack under Portuguese boss Marco Silva. Richarlison was a worthwhile asset while he was playing out wide, but his attractive has grown since he started as a striker against Leicester last time out.
The former Watford star scored against the Foxes to bring his goal tally to four goals in just six top-flight appearances for the Toffees. The visit to Goodison Park of out-of-form Crystal Palace looks to be an ideal opportunity for the forward to add to his goal tally.
David Brooks (Bournemouth, £5million)
That just £5million, Wales international David Brooks ticks all the boxes when it comes to FPL. He is cheap, he seems to play every game and the summer signing looks to have hit form too of late, scoring in his last two Cherries appearances.
Cherries team Ryan Fraser is a doubt for the home game with Southampton, so Brooks could prove to be a good alternative to his popular teammate, especially as he makes a fantastic differential. Bournemouth are prolific on home soil and are favourites to record a win over their south coast rivals. Brooks could well profit against a vulnerable Southampton backline.
Raul Jimenez (Wolves, £5.6million)
The Mexican international striker has provided a steady stream of points for his FPL owners in recent weeks. The forward has scored twice and produced three assists. His form has started to improve of late for the side from the Midlands, as he has now scored or assisted in their last four Premier League games.
With Wolves seemingly in form, a home game against a Watford side whose form has worryingly dipped in recent weeks looks a prime game to register a big point’s haul. His price tag is deceptive, as he is far more than just an enabler, so there seems to be little excuse not to have him in your FPL team at the minute.
