Watkins scored his first Premier League goal of the campaign in Villa’s 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
The England international joined from Brentford in September 2020 and has emerged as one of Villa’s star assets and with just two years left on his current deal is alerting the attention of Arsenal and Chelsea.
Ahead of his side’s visit of Brighton on Saturday lunchtime, Villa manager Unai Emery said, “He’s an example for other players. His performance as well is always at a good level for us and for him sometimes scoring more goals, sometimes less, but always doing his work.”
