RB Leipzig have fired Sporting Director Max Eberl after the club announced he failed to commit his future to the club.
The news comes amid speculation Eberl is set to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, who take on RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena later today.

Eberl is now expected to take over at the Allianz Arena as the club’s new strategic head of football, working closely alongside fellow new appointment Christoph Freund.
In a brief statement made by the Red Bull-owned club, Leipzig said, “His (Eberl’s) failure to commit to the club has led to us making this decision. It has nothing to do with the squad’s rebuild or results on the pitch.
“Sporting director Rouven Schroder will take over. We would like to thank Max for his work and wish him all the best for the future.”
