On Sunday, the remaining Premier League matches in gameweek 23 take place, with both games crucial at the top and the bottom of the table. Here are the games taking place on Sunday:

Huddersfield v Manchester City (Kick-off 1:30 PM)

The early kick-off sees managerless Huddersfield host reigning champions Manchester City at the John Smiths Stadium.

The home side saw highly-rated boss David Wagner quit earlier in the week, so the Terriers head into this match in low spirits, especially as they are rock bottom of the table. The Yorkshire side are eight adrift of safety after a tough campaign.

Town are nine matches without a win in the Premier League, having suffered eight defeats in the process. A goalless draw with Cardiff last time out ended an eight-match losing run for the Terriers in the top-flight. Huddersfield have also recorded just one win in their last 13 home matches in the top-flight while suffering defeats in their last four games on home soil.

Manchester City have hit form of late, winning their last five matches in all competitions, while also scoring at least two goals in each win. However, the Citizens could be seven points behind league leaders Liverpool by the time this game kicks off.

Last time out, out Pep Guardiola’s side recorded a 3-0 home win over Wolves at the Etihad Stadium. The win means the Citizens have won their last three league matches.

City ended a two-game losing run on their travels in the league in their last away game, a 3-1 victory at Southampton. The visitor’s recent away games in the top-flight have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five games.

Manchester City are favourites to record a victory in this clash against a Huddersfield side that looks destined for a return to the Championship.

Fulham v Tottenham (Kick-off 4 PM)

Two other teams in desperate need of points meet at Craven Cottage, as struggling Fulham host Champions League chasing Tottenham.

Fulham are currently second from bottom in the English top-flight table, five points away from safety. One win in nine league games has not helped the Cottagers position in the table.

The team from the capital have lost their last two league games against Arsenal and last time out a 2-1 at Burnley. The Cottagers home record has been a problem of late, as they have won just two of their last eight league matches on home soil.

Tottenham are currently third place in the table but are now only one point clear of fourth place Chelsea in the race for the Champions League spots.

The team from north London have been slightly inconsistent of late in the top-flight, losing two of their last three Premier League games, including suffering a 1-0 home defeat against Manchester United last time out.

Spurs recent top-flight games have been relatively high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league matches.

Despite inconsistent form of late, Spurs have been strong on their travels, winning eight of their last nine away matches in the Premier League. Mauricio Pochettino’s team has also scored at least two goals in their last four away matches in the top-flight.

Who will pick up maximum points from Sunday’s potentially crucial matches?
