With just four gameweeks left of the Premier League campaign, we are reaching the end of the campaign. That also means we are reaching a crucial stage in the FPL season.
Our gameweek 34 ones to watch failed to produce the results we had hoped for, but we are confident that our gameweek 35 picks will do much better. Without further ado, here are our ones to watch for the latest FPL gameweek:
Ben Foster (Watford, £4.6m)
The former England goalkeeper could be a valuable asset in gameweek 35. The Hornets are still chasing seventh spot in the Premier League, so they are unlikely to down tools, which is good news for Foster owners.
The veteran goalkeeper has a double gameweek in 35, as his team faces a trip to already-relegated Huddersfield and a home game with Southampton at Vicarage Road. The Hornets will be favourites to win both matches. At £4.6million, Foster seems like the best value goalkeepers with double gameweeks in 35. With that in mind, he is an obvious choice for any FPL boss.
Nathan Redmond (Southampton, £5.3m)
The winger has been highly inconsistent in recent Premier League seasons. He has the ability, but his tally of five goals and three assists this season suggests he does not do enough with his talent.
However, in recent weeks he has shown signs of producing slightly more consistent. In fact, the former Norwich star has scored two goals and produced an assist in his last three top-flight outings for the Saints.
Redmond’s performances have improved since the appointment of Ralph Hasenhuttl as Saints boss. Redmond faces trips to Newcastle and Watford in gameweek 35, not easy ones but games where the £5.3million-rated winger could pick up points.
Abdoulaye Doucoure (Watford, £5.9m)
Since last season central midfielder Doucoure has offered a goal threat from his position in the centre of the park. The French star has scored five goals and produced six assists this season, which is not a standout return for a player of his ability. However, Doucoure has now scored two goals in his last three top-flight appearances for Watford and his underlying statistics suggest he could well be due more attacking returns in the near future.
A combination of a trip to relegated Huddersfield and a home game against Southampton seems a perfect one for the midfielder to pick up more attacking points.
Raul Jimenez (Wolves, £6.8m)
The Mexican striker seems like a no-brainer for gameweek 35. Like Watford, Wolves are still chasing seventh place and a potential place in the Europa League for next season. Jimenez has played a major part in the Midlander’s success this season, scoring 12 goals and picking up ten assists in the top-flight.
Although his form has dipped slightly of late, the former Benfica striker has still scored twice and produced three assists in his last five league outings for the club from the Midlands. A double gameweek consisting of home games against Brighton and travel-sick Arsenal look to be favourable fixtures for the striker. At £6.8m, it is hard to find a better striking option for gameweek 35.
