On Sunday afternoon, the race for the title and Champions League places takes in the Premier League, with three big games taking place. Here are the details of Sunday’s top-flight games:

Everton v Manchester United (Kick off 1:30 PM)

The days early kick-off, Manchester United make the short trip to Everton’s Goodison Park, as the Red Devils attempt to keep themselves in the race for a Champions League spot.

A 2-0 defeat at Fulham last time out ended a promising three-game winning run in the Premier League for the Everton. A retrospective three-game ban handed out to star midfielder Andre Gomes only added to the disappointment for the Merseysider’s.

Despite that poor display at Craven Cottage, the Toffees will be confident of gaining a positive result in this fixture, mainly due to their recent stellar performances on home soil in Premier League. The Toffees have drawn with arch-rivals Liverpool and beaten both Chelsea and Arsenal in their last three league outings at Goodison Park.

Manchester United suffered a 3-0 mauling at Barcelona last time out in the Champions League quarter-final second leg. The defeat saw the Red Devils exit the competition 4-0 on aggregate. The defeat was United’s fifth in seven outings in all competitions.

Inconsistent league form has seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team fall two points behind fourth-place Arsenal in the race for the top four spots. The visitors have suffered successive away defeats in the Premier League. However, United are favourites to win this clash.

Cardiff City v Liverpool (Kick-off 4 PM)

The clash between Cardiff City and Liverpool at the Cardiff City Stadium could have big implications at both the top and bottom of the Premier League.

Cardiff are currently 18th place in the top-flight table, just two points from safety. A 2-0 win at closest relegation rivals Brighton last time out kept the Welsh side’s survival hopes alive. However, the Bluebirds have played an extra game than the Seagulls, who face a potentially difficult clash against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.

Neil Warnock’s side heads into this daunting clash on the back of six defeats in their last eight Premier League outings. The Bluebirds have a poor recent home record in the top-flight, losing three of their last four home matches in the Premier League, conceding at least two goals in each defeat. Their recent home record does not bode well for a home win in this clash.

Liverpool are currently two points clear at the top of the Premier League, having played an extra game than reigning champions Manchester City. The Citizens could return to the top of the table when they host Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

A 4-1 victory over Porto in the Champions League quarter-final second leg last time out means that Jurgen Klopp’s team has now recorded eight straight wins in all competition. They have also won their last five games in the Premier League, scoring at least twice in all five wins.

Liverpool’s recent away form has been slightly inconsistent of late in the top-flight, as the visitors have won three and drawn three of their last six league matches on their travels. However, the Reds have suffered just one away defeat in the Premier League this season, which was at the Etihad Stadium against champions Manchester City.
