The Premier League season 2018/19 comes to an end this weekend, with only one real issue to be settled, who finishes the season as Premier League champions. With all the last day games kicking off at 3 PM, we will know who the champions are by 4:50: Here is a look at the big games taking place on Sunday:

Brighton v Manchester City

Reigning champions Manchester City know that the last day scenario is simply when they travel Brighton, they have to win to retain the title.

Brighton have little to play for this season after securing their Premier League status last weekend. It is a good job the Seagulls are safe, as the team from the south coast have suffered defeats in five of their last eight top-flight outings.

One home win in eight top-flight games does not make pretty reading either, especially as they have lost three of their last four home games at the AMEX Stadium.

Manchester City are currently leading second-place Liverpool by just a point in the race for Premier League title. The Citizens have no room for error on the south coast.

However, current form is definitely on the visitor’s side, as Pep Guardiola’s team has now won their last 13 games in the Premier League. Last time out, the Citizens recorded a narrow 1-0 home win over Leicester.

The victory over the Foxes means that City have conceded just once in their last seven league games in the top-flight. The reigning champions have also been formidable foes on their travels, winning six consecutive matches in the Premier League, while conceding just once in the process.

The title race is in for a tense finish. However, Manchester City are favourites to beat Brighton and, in the turn, to retain the Premier League crown.

Liverpool v Wolves

Fresh from booking their place in the Champions League final, Liverpool host Wolves at Anfield in a potentially crucial game. The title is now out of the Reds hands, so all Jurgen Klopp’s side can do is win their game and hope that City slip-up.

A late 3-2 victory at Newcastle last time out in the top-flight means that the Merseysider’s have won their last eight Premier League games, with city-rivals Everton the last team to take any points off the Reds.

A key factor in the home sides recent wins is their sheer attacking prowess, as the Reds have scored at least twice in all of those aforementioned eight wins.

Liverpool are undefeated in 40 Premier League matches at Anfield, having recorded six consecutive wins on home soil in the top-flight. Once again, the Reds have been prolific scoring at least twice in all six wins.

Wolves have enjoyed a very creditable return to the top-flight, having already sealed seventh spot in the top-flight table.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are undefeated in four league matches, having recorded three straight wins over Arsenal, Watford and last time out Fulham. The aforementioned 2-1 win at Watford ended a five-game winless run on their travels in the top-flight.

The team from the Midlands have failed to keep a clean sheet away from home in their last 14 matches on their travels. A trip to Anfield this weekend is unlikely to improve that poor defensive record.
