There have been strange noises in the media about Liverpool and Egypt forward Mohamed Salah leaving the Merseyside club. Now the Mirror are reporting that the forward has decided to ignore interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid and also Juventus to stay with the Reds.

The report suggests that both European giants were prepared to pay £150million for the 27-year-old this summer. It also claims that Salah will reconsider his situation next season.

Talk of a summer exit

I am not sure where the rumours of Salah leaving Liverpool came from. There was talk of the Egyptian falling out with boss Jurgen Klopp. However, there was no evidence of any fallout and maybe nefarious individuals not related to the Reds wanted to cause concern.

The truth is that Salah has become a hero in his two seasons at Anfield. He is unlikely to get the same adulation at many clubs, especially Real Madrid, where their heroes are often heavily criticised if they go through a poor period of form.

Liverpool do not need to sell Salah

It would be strange for Liverpool to even consider Salah, who has won the Premier League Golden Boot in both his seasons on Merseyside. The Reds attack has been one of the most potent in the English top-flight in recent years, as the Egyptian has thrived alongside Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

In fact, the trio have established themselves as one of the most dangerous attacking units in the European game, with Salah at the heart of it. In today’s crazy transfer market, the Egyptian is proving to be a real bargain. When he joined the Reds, he was nowhere near the player he is today.

In terms of finances, the Merseysider’s certainly do not need the money. Not only did they have the prize money from winning the Champions League, but they also had the money that comes from finishing as Premier League runners up.

The Merseysider’s have also been highly shrewd in the transfer market in recent years. Selling players for big fees and majorly strengthening their squad in the process.

Why would Salah want to leave Liverpool?

The lure of the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona will always be there for the world’s best players. They are considered super clubs. However, Liverpool are their way back to the top of the football tree.

The Reds are one of the favourites to win the Premier League and also the Champions League next season. Last season showed that Jurgen Klopp’s team can compete with the best that England and Europe have to offer.

Many would say that Liverpool are one of the most attractive clubs to join this summer for any player. It would be a strange time to leave Liverpool for Salah, who is known to be happy with life on Merseyside.

You can never say anything for sure in football. There have been many transfers that have shocked the world down the years. However, it would be a major shock if Mohamed Salah left the Reds this summer.

Is there any possibility that Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool this summer?
