Manchester United will try and get back to winning ways when they square off with Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday.

Norwich (10/3)

Norwich City live by the kind of do or die mentality that may not necessarily lead to them surviving in the Premier League, but will certainly provide us with a certain amount of entertainment value. They will be looking towards the January transfer window as a great opportunity for them to get themselves back in the market, as they attempt to bring in a few new stars. There are a lot of uncertainties when it comes to their squad, but when they’re playing, it’s hard not to tune in and watch.

Norwich’s only win in their last six games was against Manchester City, which isn’t exactly the worst result to have on your resume. They drew against Bournemouth in a goalless outing in their last game, and have sustained a few losses aside from that. West Ham, Burnley, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa all beat them, which are teams that they should really be getting results against.

Manchester United (3/4)

Manchester United’s dramatic decline over the course of the last few years has been well documented, but even with that being the case, they still don’t seem to have the answers to the issues that lie in front of them. As opposed to going into every single Premier League game thinking they’re going to win, their fans have been left to wonder whether or not they’ll get anything from it at all. That may be a result of the manager, but the players certainly need to take some responsibility too.

When your only win in your last six is a 1-0 triumph over Partizan in the Europa League, there are issues – especially when you’re Manchester United. They lost to Newcastle, and they’ve also had a series of draws. They got a point against AZ Alkmaar, they edged past Rochdale in the Carabao Cup, and they will be pleased to have got a draw against Liverpool and Arsenal.

Conclusion

Manchester United are well aware of the fact that if they can’t string a few wins together, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future at the club is going to be in trouble. Alas, we just don’t think their run is going to end here as they go up against a Norwich side with quite literally nothing to lose. They were able to put Manchester City to the sword at Carrow Road, and while football mathematics doesn’t really work, we just can’t see a scenario in which United walk away with anything from this game.

We’re going to back the over 2.5, too, mainly because we do actually believe United will get on the scoresheet.

Verdict: Back the home win at odds of 10/3 and the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/5. (All odds are taken from bet365).
