Prediction and odds for the game: Leicester (1/5) v Norwich (12/1)
We are backing the over 3.5 goals scored
When: Saturday 14th December 2019, Kick-off 3 PM
Where: The King Power Stadium
On Saturday, Leicester host Norwich at the King Power Stadium, in a game that looks to be vital at both ends of the Premier League table.
Leicester
The Foxes are simply in red hot form at the minute. Brendan Rodgers side has now recorded eight straight Premier League wins, while also finding the net at least twice in all of their straight victories. Aston Villa were the latest team dispatched by Leicester, as the Foxes recorded a 4-1 win at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.
The home sides form has led to them becoming league leaders Liverpool’s nearest challengers. However, despite being second place in the table, they are a massive eight points behind the Merseysider’s.
Leicester have turned the King Power Stadium into something of a fortress of late, as they are unbeaten in ten home games in the top-flight, having won their last seven matches. Their attacking threat has been evident in that recent good run of home form, as they have scored at least twice in all seven home wins.
The form of former England international Jamie Vardy has played a key role in the Foxes attacking exploits of late, as the 32-year-old has scored 16 goals in as many Premier League appearances this season. He will be looking to score in his seventh consecutive match in the Premier League in this clash.
Norwich
The Canaries head into this game 19th place in the Premier League after just one win in their last 11 matches. A 2-1 home defeat by Sheffield United last time out means that Daniel Farke’s team has now lost five of their last seven league games.
The visitor’s main problem of late in the Premier League has been conceding too many goals. The Canaries have conceded at least twice in six of their last seven league games. Only Southampton have conceded more goals than Norwich this season in the top-flight.
A poor away record has not helped the visitor’s chances of escaping the relegation zone. The Canaries have won once in their last 11 matches on their travels in the Premier League dating back to 2016. To make matters worse, Norwich have also lost nine of those 11 away matches.
The recent history of this fixture does not suggest an upset, as Norwich have lost their last three meetings with Leicester in all competitions.
Conclusion
We are expecting a pretty comfortable victory for Leicester in this clash. However, when it comes to betting the home win offers very little value. A bet that offers slightly more is the over 3.5 goals, which we are backing. We are also taking the odds of 1/ 2 for Vardy to an anytime scorer.
Verdict: Back the over 3.5 goals scored and/or Jamie Vardy to be an anytime scorer at odds of 1/ 2. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
