Prediction and odds for the game: Bournemouth (17/10) v Brighton (6/4)
We are backing the draw
When: Tuesday 21st January 2020, Kick-off 7:30 PM
Where: The Vitality Stadium
On Tuesday night, Bournemouth host Brighton at the Vitality Stadium, in what could be a massive game at the bottom end of the Premier League table.
Bournemouth
Things are not looking good for Eddie Howe’s team at the minute. The Cherries have now lost nine of their last 12 Premier League games after a 1-0 defeat at bottom club, Norwich, last time out.
The defeat in East Anglia was their fourth straight loss in the top-flight. The Cherries have had problems at both ends of the pitch. In fact, they have failed to score in seven of their last nine league outings. At the other end, Howe’s team have conceded at least two goals in their last 12 league matches.
The home side’s recent results are those of a team set for a relegation fight. The Cherries are currently second from bottom in the English top-flight, three points from safety.
Bournemouth’s recent home form has not helped the Cherries position in the table, as they have failed to win any of their last five home games, suffering four defeats in the process. Impotency in front of goal has been a big factor in their poor recent home results, as they have scored just once in their last four home games in the Premier League.
Brighton
The Seagulls find themselves five points clear of the home side. However, Graham Potter’s team are just three points clear of the relegation zone.
Brighton have struggled for victories of late, winning just once in their last eight Premier League outings. Last time out, Aston Villa held the visitors to a 1-1 draw. The draw means that six of Brighton’s last seven league games have produced under 2.5 goals, including their last four outings.
The Seagulls have struggled for clean sheets of late in the Premier League of late, keeping just one clean sheet in their last 15 league outings.
The Seagulls recent away record is a poor one, as the visitors have won just two of their last 15 matches on their travels in the Premier League. They have also suffered six defeats in their last eight away matches in the English top-flight.
Unsurprisingly, Brighton have kept just two clean sheets in their last 13 away matches in the top-flight, and none in their last eight outings in the Premier League.
Conclusion
Both of these teams are in poor form heading into this potentially crucial clash in the fight for Premier League survival. Bournemouth have to end their terrible recent run of form. However, we are backing Brighton to frustrate the Cherries and claim a draw.
Neither of these teams has been prolific of late. Therefore, we are also backing the under 2.5 goals scored.
Verdict: We are backing the draw at odds of5/2 and or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 10/11.
