Lyon

The French team endured a difficult domestic campaign in Ligue One, eventually finishing seventh place in the curtailed French top-flight. Lyon have not been great in the Champions League this season either, despite making it through to the last-16.

A record of just one victory in their previous 14 matches in Europe’s elite competition is certainly not a great record. The first leg victory ended a short two-game winless run in the competition for OL. The game also saw the visitors keep their first Champions League clean sheet in five outings.

OL have at least been dangerous in attack in this competition of late, as they have only failed to score in just one of their previous seven European matches. Dutch winger Memphis Depay has played a key role in the Champions League, scoring five goals in this season’s competition.

One issue that is concerning going into this clash is OL’s recent record on the road in the Champions League. The visitors have suffered defeat in three of their last four away games in Europe’s elite competition.

Conclusion

On paper, Juventus are massive favourites to record a victory, but there seems to be a few nerves in Turin about this clash. This tension is likely due to the team’s late-season form. However, we are backing the Bianconeri to record a narrow victory simply due to their good home record and OL’s poor away record in the Champions League.
