Leicester City and Chelsea will meet in a huge midweek encounter at the King Power Stadium as the top four race continues to heat up.

Leicester

Leicester City continue to surprise us all by being the title contenders that many of us never really saw coming. This was the case last year and they fell away pretty dramatically but up to this point, they have shown a whole lot more maturity than they did the last time out. Brendan Rodgers needs to be given a lot of credit for the way in which he’s set this team up but beyond that, there’s so much talent in this team that it’d be surprising if they weren’t doing so well.

The two draws against Crystal Palace and Manchester United were somewhat disappointing, but outside of that, Leicester haven’t put much of a foot wrong lately. They beat Tottenham before the break and then when we hit 2021, they defeated Newcastle, Southampton and also Stoke in the FA Cup.

Chelsea

Chelsea Football Club have very high expectations placed on their shoulders most of the time, and we tend to think the same is also true this time around. They have the talent necessary to do some major damage both domestically and in Europe, but once things don’t go their way, they really do collapse. It’ll be interesting to see if they can step up to the plate in a game that’ll be full of attacking stars.

A really poor spell of losing to Arsenal, losing to Manchester City and drawing with Aston Villa was put to one side as Chelsea beat Morecambe in the FA Cup and just about beat Fulham in the West London derby, adding to their derby victory over West Ham in late December.

Conclusion

Chelsea still don’t seem to possess the sort of confidence that means they’ll be able to consistently challenge at the top of the league, whereas Leicester are doing what they do best – they’re flying under the radar. Instead of capitulating they legitimately look like they possess the attacking prowess necessary to cause most teams problems, and because of that, we’re backing them to edge out a really important win over the Blues – putting Frank Lampard’s job in even more jeopardy in the process.

Our official scoreline prediction is going to be 2-1 Leicester, ensuring we hit the over 2.5 goals bracket – and trust us when we say that this one has fireworks written all over it.
