On Tuesday night, PSG host Juventus in Group H of the Champions League, as both teams attempt to make a winning start to their European campaign.

A 1-1 draw at Fiorentina last time out in Serie A means that Max Allegri’s team has now drawn three of their previous four games. The Bianconeri’s recent league matches have been low-scoring affairs, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last four league outings.

Like their opponents, Juventus exited the Champions League at the last 16 stage last season, suffering a surprise 4-1 aggregate defeat by Spanish team Villarreal. A 3-0 second leg defeat in Turin was a particularly disappointing result.

The Villarreal tie from last season means that Juventus have won just one of their previous four games in the Champions League.

The team from Turin have an inconsistent recent away record in European football’s elite competition, as they have won just two of their last five league games on their travels. Their recent away games in Champions League have been relatively high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven away matches in the competition.

Conclusion

PSG are dominating their domestic league once again and will have high hopes of finally claiming their first-ever Champions League crown. Juventus have not been at their best this season and should have taken more points from their Serie A fixtures.
