With the latest round of Premier League games kicking off this evening, there is very little time for FPL bosses to pick their gameweek 34 teams. Our ones to watch for gameweek 33 produced a bumper haul of points and we are confident of another haul this week. Here are our ones to watch for gameweek 34:
Mat Ryan (Brighton, £4.4million)
The Australian has been a solid last line of defence for the Seagulls in recent seasons. His team have not been great at the back, but he has garnered a reputation for himself as a very good goalkeeper. The former Valencia star has earned five clean sheets this season in a tough campaign for Chris Hughton’s side.
The attraction of Ryan is not only his price of £4.4million but the fact that his team have a double gameweek as they host Bournemouth and Cardiff at the AMEX Stadium.
Shane Duffy (Brighton, £4.8million)
Another Brighton player. The Republic of Ireland centre-back will be a popular pick in gameweek 34. The former Everton player has been a vital player for the Seagulls at the heart their defence in their two campaigns in the top-flight.
His appeal this week is the fact is that aforementioned double gameweek consisting of home matches against Bournemouth and Cardiff, games the Seagulls are favourites to win. At £4.8million, the centre-back offers good value, as he also offers an attacking threat.
In fact, Duffy has scored five times and produced two assists this season in the Premier League. With captaincy contenders in short supply, the centre-back is also a wildcard captain candidate for players who need to make up ground in their mini-leagues.
Lucas Digne (Everton, £5.3, million)
The French is another defensive option looking like an attractive FPL prospect for gameweek 34. The former Barcelona full-back has scored three times and produced four assists this season.
However, suddenly it is not only his attacking play that makes him a good option, as Everton have now kept clean sheets in five of their six league matches. That is a particularly impressive stat considering the Toffees have faced Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in that run of games.
A trip to already relegated Fulham this weekend looks like it could be a profitable one for Everton and their French full-back.
Heung Min-Son (Tottenham, £8.6m)
The South Korean international is enjoying the best campaign of his Tottenham career so far, as he has scored 12 goals, while also producing seven assists in the top-flight for Spurs. This tally is despite missing a month of the campaign for international duty with South Korea at the Asian Games.
A big plus for Son owners is that he is likely to start up front in the absence of star striker Harry Kane. He has previously excelled in the more central role for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
A home game against rock bottom Huddersfield this weekend makes Son one of the main contenders for the FPL captaincy this week too. The former Hamburg star has scored in both of Tottenham’s games at their stadium. He will be confident of extending his home goalscoring run against the doomed Terriers.
Who will be gameweek 34’s one to watch in FPL?
